Performed Suite for Tuba by Don Haddad with the Georgia Tech Concert Band under the direction of Dr. Andrea Brown at the Murray Arts Center. Dr. Brown and I were colleagues at Austin Peay State University before taking different paths that led us to our respective college positions in Atlanta. Other guest artists included Dr. Cameron “Chip” Crotts, who will be the new Director of Jazz Studies at the Georgia Tech School of Music this fall. Coincidentally, Dr. Crotts and I were members of the 1988 N.C. High School Honor Band and hadn’t met again until this performance. This concert was a wonderful opportunity to collaborate and to reunite with great friends and colleagues.
